Camejo shows new cityscapes in Havana
An exhibition by Luis Camejo, one of Cuba’s most outstanding painters, opens this week at the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura in Havana. The work chosen to promote the Havana exhibition references the recent appearance of foreign cruise ships in the city, a product of the ongoing talks between Cuba and the US governments towards the normalisation of relations between the two countries. This is the second series Camejo has created of large cityscapes and demonstrates his virtuosity in depicting the effects of rainwater and the reflection of lights. Camejo will be in London in October for the opening of the exhibition Presente! Contemporary Art from Cuba where his work will be exhibited, and will also participate in a series of art seminars at universities and public meetings.
