In October 2016, the ¡PRESENTE! exhibition will bring a stunning showcase of contemporary Cuban art to London. This will be the first major group show for Cuban artists in the UK for many years, offering a unique opportunity to view a cross-section of the island’s lively visual arts scene today.

¡PRESENTE! will exhibit more than 50 artworks from over 30 artists currently working in Cuba, from those already internationally renowned, including Luís Enrique Camejo, Kcho and Reynerio Tamayo, to emerging stars such as Adislén Reyes, Harold Lopez Muñoz and Lisandra Isabel Garcia.

The show will include paintings, works on paper, and photography.  They capture the dynamism and diversity of contemporary Cuban art at its best: the freshness of its aesthetic, its powerful breadth of vision – from the deeply personal to the global – and its multi-faceted relation to the distinctive history, culture and social evolution of Cuba itself.

¡PRESENTE! Contemporary Art from Cuba the exhibition will take place 6-29 October 2016 at GX Gallery, 43 Denmark Hill, London SE5 8RS  gxgallery.com Opening hours: Mon/Tue/Wed/Sat 9.30am-6.00pm Thu/Fri 9.30am-7.00pm Closed on Sundays

¡Presente! exhibition then goes on show from 7 November  at Searcys, The Gherkin, London until 22 December 2016, which will be the final opportunity to view this extraordinary body of works. Viewing the selection at the Gherkin will be strictly by appointment only via GX Gallery Tel  +44 (0)20 7703 8396  or  email info@gxgallery.com

Alongside the exhibition, ¡PRESENTE! is also organising a full programme of educational events for arts students, professionals and the general public in London and beyond.  Two of the artists, Adislén Reyes and Luís Camejo, along with curator Chrislie Pérez Pérez, will be coming direct from Cuba to participate in these.  A full catalogue will be published, and a Presente Resource Pack for Teachers is available to use and adapt for students.

All of the artworks will be for sale, to raise funds for materials for arts education projects across Cuba.

We would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters for making this unique project happen.

See Our Supporters page for messages of support from British artists, actors, writers and academics.
